Cities teem with mystery, memory, and meaning. In this nonfiction workshop, we explore how to uncover and articulate the sacred in urban spaces—whether found in a corner café, a subway platform, or a patch of green tucked between buildings. Join award-winning and best-selling author Janisse Ray for a daylong writing workshop to explore urban sacred space. Through writing prompts, guided exercises, and discussion, we’ll craft essays that reveal the deep, often hidden, spirituality of everyday places, mapping moments of awe, reverence, and transformation. We’ll look at sanctuary and thin places. Join us to elevate an ordinary Saturday into a deeply meaningful and connected one. Tuition is $199 and includes lunch, handouts, readings, and a copy of Janisse’s book Craft & Current: A Manual for Magical Writing.
